ZOSI 8-Channel 3K Lite Hybrid CCTV DVR with AI Detection, 5MP, No Hard Drive

I have recently changed over cctv systems from Analogue to Ahd I looked at a lot but decided to try Zosi and not having heard of them before I was a bit sceptical well I'm glad I tried it as its a cracking little dvr and quite straight forward as long as you don't forget your password as I did but I got in touch with Zosi technical and they sorted me right out so thanks again Amy from Zosi technical 5 stars all the way EDIT After using this zosi DVR for a while now I've been trying to get the mobile app Zosi smart I've never been able to get it working and I've emailed Zosi support so many times to no avail so if you buy this to view Ur cameras away from home I'd suggest you buy that works Sance ie a Scance DVR which I have now bought and it works everytime with no issues you can view the cameras with Xmeye mobile app too again with no issues I have now taken the DVR away as it's no use to me as I need to monitor all my cameras with the mobile apps hope that this review was helpful

Item good, Decent Zosi customer support: Item delivered next day, and has basic quick start instructions, as well as more detailed advanced instructions. Supplied with everything needed: CCTV DVR Unit ; Mouse : External power supply adapter; Instructions; set up CD (not required); External alarm trigger wire connector adapter (not required). Basic; set up is easy, following Icons on screen set up, and entering the details via the supplied mouse. Advanced; using the remote app is more tricky, not least as ALL apps use DHCP, which can be troublesome to set up (follow some online guides, and the Zosi video guides are very good; just be Very methodical!) Took a while and a bit of learning and tweaking, (hence -1 star, as the app isn't 100% easy) but now set up and works from phone. The unit can have lots of various alerts; motion; external sensor etc etc; and can also control PTZ cameras; Set firm Schedules ; all the usual. Motion areas can also be defined, along with sensitivity. Picture quality is Very Good (Quality is good as your cameras is and will also adapt to the cameras highest quality.) Each camera can also be fully adjusted for colour, brightness, sharpness etc. Back up / copy is simple via plug any USB stick/drive. Some reviews mentioned fan noise, this is only as 12v DC unit, so obviously has a fan to keep the processing chips cooler; I cant say I even noticed, esp as this is probable because the very nature of this device means it will be hidden away somewhere and need the air flow(!) I did contact Zosi support, (about the App) and they came back quickly so credit for that. NOTE: this unit can be supplied in various configurations; of 4/8/16 cameras etc, and with or Without a hard drive fitted. Mine was purchased without a hard drive and reused a spare 1TB WD drive, took minutes to fit, easy. WOULD RECOMMEND this product.

I bought this piece of kit as an up grade to my current system. No problems setting it up and creating a username and password. Easy to set up on mobile. Then I hit a problem. A power cut shut down the system. When I tried to reboot I'd forgotten my password (was going to write it down 'later'). The machine wouldn't let me in. An E-mail to Zosi support (this was at night approx. 21.00) was met with an almost instant reply. Nick Williams was the chap. He gave various methods which may have helped to reboot the DVR. Even downloaded the SPD app in order to obtain a 'superpassword' to no avail. Two or three Emails later and, as a near last resort (due to the DVR being a security DVR) Nick set me a link to obtain the DVR's firmware. This had to be installed on the DVR via a USB stick. Firmware obtained and uploaded onto USB stick. USB inserted into DVR's USB port and within minutes ….. BINGO!! Machine up and running. New password (written down this time)and off we went. I cannot thank Nick enough for his patience and obvious knowledge. I have NO problem recommending this company and it's products. Thanks once again Nick.

When using monitor its perfect. Easy to use and fast. However, Very poor and frustrating app. Playback is always disabled. Have to reboot device everytime I want to use playback. Very slow and laggy even when it does work. I'm now on my 3rd replacement and it's the same story with every one. Would not reccomend

This is a replacement to an earlier zosi model which was working until I downloaded the firmware update from zosi support site and installed it. Afterwards the unit worked but the pictures from the camera could not be seen any longer and zosi support couldn't help. Decided to buy a replacement. (Unhappily) but decided to stick with zosi as some competitors stated the units only work with their branded cameras or new models. Set up was easy. New zosi app is better than the previous version. DO NOT TRY AND UPGRADE YOUR FIRMWARE IF YOUR UNIT IS ALREADY WORKING AS YOULL NO DOUBT LOOSE THE PICTURES FROM YOUR CAMERA. 1 star dropped for fiddly menu layout (I'm used it it from previous unit but still not the best) 1 star dropped for firmware upgrade that broke my last unit.

I have had these for years and the product is amazing I wanted to look for a newer cctv box for my parents and lenoard and yukki was amazing they helped me find one for the best price and made sure it fits all my needs they was quick to reply and really kind this company is really one of the best I have bought from compared to other companies that take weeks to reply these guys are instant

Had a problem with a similar ZOSI DTR bought about 3+ years previous. Despite support from ZOSI, unable to fix. Possibly a failing/failed power supply causing some sort of hardware (suspect disk controller) failure. However a 10% "cashback" was rcvd from ZOSI via Amazon for this (replacement/2nd) purchase. Thanks to Amy at ZOSI support for this . A month on, I can report that my new DTR has been working perfectly and is providing the Home security & reassurance I wanted.
